If there’s one place you can be guaranteed there won’t be any naked pictures of the Taoiseach it’s right here on the Comic Cast.  But what we can guarantee you this week is an absolutely stellar show where we  review Mark Millar’s MARVEL 1985, Rich Koslowski’s Three Fingers, Brian Michael Bendis’ Powers, Geoff Johns’ Superman: Brainiac as well as a hot from the printers review of new Irish comic Mindpuss volume 1 by Ronan Kennedy. If that wasn’t enough we also speak to Bob Byrne about his new webcomic spectacular Spazzmoid and we give our verdict on the companion film to Watchmen – Tales of the Black Freighter as well as a round-up of comics news goings on!

This week the Comic Cast is delighted (and slighty aroused) to be talking to not one, but SIX of Ireland’s top comic artists. Seated at the table are Stephen Mooney (Angel; After the Fall), Stephen Thompson (Star Trek; New Frontier, Presidential Material: John McCain), Nick Roche (Transformers, Doctor Who), Will Sliney (Farscape), Bob Byrne (Mr. Amperduke, 2000AD) and Declan Shalvey (Frankenstein, Hero Killers). We’re obliged to tell you that several comments are made during the podcast which you may find offensive or, if you’re anything like us, will enduce you to weep salty tears of excruciating laughter. This one’s a real gem. Enjoy!

You know what it’s like. You’re running late for the pub and you’ve still that bloody podcast to record. So you compromise. You drink while recording. Welcome to this weeks whiskey steeped Comic Cast where we review Daredevil: Brian Michael Bendis & Alex Maleev Omnibus, Sempé’s Nothing is Simple, Alan Moore’s Swamp thing, Tommie Kelly’s Road Crew issue 1 and Road Crew Noir. We also review the new Irish animated filmThe Secret of Kells (in cinemas March 6th) and the DVD release of Fear[s] of the Dark  – a film written and directed by several acclaimed comic book creators and graphic artists, not to mention a big fat exclusive(ish) review of “the unfilmable” Watchmen which turned out to be filmable as we seen it on a big screen made for films.  So settle down, drink up and join us in a place where everybody knows your name – the Comic Cast!
